UC Foundation Welcomes New Assistant Vice President of Development

CINCINNATI – Mar. 5, 2018 – The University of Cincinnati Foundation is pleased to announce that Kim Francis has joined its team as the Assistant Vice President of Development for the UC College of Medicine and UC Health.

She will design and implement fundraising plans for the UC College of Medicine and UC Health.

Francis previously held leadership roles in the health care and fundraising arenas. As the major gift officer at the Methodist Health Foundation in Indianapolis, she managed fundraising for neuroscience and trauma for Indiana University Health and Methodist Hospital. Prior to this experience, she was the director of advancement at the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute where she helped secure more than $100 million in corporate and philanthropic gifts. Before she left the Cincinnati region, she was the director of development for the UC College of Medicine, advancing its neuroscience efforts.

“Kim will enhance our talented staff with her deep understanding of successful fundraising, helping us elevate the stellar academic and research programs within UC and UC Health’s world-class health care system the Foundation supports,” said UC Foundation President Peter E. Landgren.

Francis earned her bachelor’s of science at the University of Colorado and her master’s of business administration from Pepperdine University.

“I’m excited to return to my hometown,” said Francis. “My parents attended UC and my dad played basketball there. It’s an exciting time to be a part of UC and UC Health.”

“I am very pleased that Kim has rejoined the team,” said Mike Zenz, associate vice president for development at UC’s Academic Health Center and UC Health.

“She has more than 20 years of fundraising experience and brings a wealth of knowledge, management and relationship-building skills that will certainly help us advance the missions of both UC Health and the UC College of Medicine.”
